Trend of technology and telecommunication networks

Companies in the past using two different types of networks: telephone networks and computer networks. Telephone network to handle voice communications, and computer networks to handle data traffic. Telephone network built by telephone companies throughout the 20th century using voice transmission technology (hardware and software), and these companies are almost always acting as a monopoly that diregulasikan worldwide. Computer networks originally built by computer companies are trying to send data to and from computer-computer in a different location.

Thanks to the deregulation of telecommunications and information technology innovation constantly, telephone and computer networks gradually united into a digital network using Internet-based standards and tools.

Telecommunications service providers, like AT & T and Verizon, today offer data transmission, Internet access, wireless telephone service and television programming as voice services. Cable companies like Cablevision and Comcast, now offering voice services and Internet access. Computer networks have been developed and covers internet phone, and video services is limited. Now all voice communications, video, and data are increasingly based on Internet technology.

Both voice and data communication networks have become more powerful (faster), more easily portable (more kecildan mobile), and cheaper. For example, public Internet connection speed ditahun 2000 is 56 kilobits per second (Kbps), but today more than 60 percent of U.S. Internet users have high-speed broadband connections provided by telephone companies and cable TV which runs at speeds of one million bits per seconds. The cost for this service falls exponentially, from 25 cents in 2000 to less than 1 cent today.

Voice and data communications, like Internet access, the more progress on wireless broadband platforms, such as cell phones, digital handheld devices and PCs in wireless networks (eMarketer, 2005a). in fact, access broadbandnirkabel is a form of internet access is the fastest growing, with 28 percent growth rate per year.

Telecommunications Technology

Telecommunications technology is the fastest growing technology, along with the development of electronics and computer industries. Telecommunications technology trend is increasingly toward wireless technology (without cable). There are some indications that can be seen in the development of wireless technology. Indications are: the shift to digital technology, the greater the capacity, the more simple devices, expanding coverage, better security and privacy, personality and the addition of other facilities.

The direction of the development of wireless technology, all leading to the technology FPLMTS (Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunications System). The technology can be approached from cordless technology, cellular and satellite. The evolution of telecommunications technology currently has the tendency to switch via the radio, optical or satellite.

TECHNOLOGY TRENDS NETWORK, its features:

    *      Large capacity

    *      Error and a small delay

    *      Many of the services required

    *      Multivendor service

    *      Flexible according to customer requirements

    *      Low investment costs

    *      Operation is easy

    *      Low operational costs

Trend Future Development of Telecommunications Technology

Technology generation communications networks or commonly called 3G, the mobile phones currently provides ease of mobility without wires (wireless) without a limit like never before, with high speed internet connection capability (equivalent to broadband Internet like DSL, Cable Modem or Leased Line), Video Streaming and Video conferences provide facilities for all interests of all of us quickly where we are.

In general, the development of telecommunications technology is divided into several generations, among others:
1. 1G (1979-1992), the wireless technology.
2. 2G, using existing wireless technologies, most of which accommodate the text.
3. 2.5G, while technology and accommodate the graphics.
4. 3G (2001-2005), third generation technology to support high-speed internet connection capability, video streaming and video conferences.
5. 4G (2006-2010), will provide faster multimedia technology to combine voice communications technologies (voice), Internet access (data), or television and video services over a single channel.
